War is back — emergency appeal for the animals of Lebanon

More than 7,000 reports per year of companion animals in need are answered by our rescue team.

Lebanon’s national animal protection law — Law 47 of 2017, with 11 chapters and 30 articles — was drafted through our campaign and approved into law. Enforcement wins since include the first lifetime animal-keeping ban issued in Lebanon.

We closed three abusive zoos and rehomed over 100 animals, among them chimpanzees, bears, hyenas, tigers and lions, in partnership with sanctuaries worldwide.

Through our campaign Lebanon became the 178th party to CITES, in force since 26 May 2013. We represent Lebanon at OIE, CITES and European Commission conferences and helped draft the OIE regional animal welfare strategy.
